175th Merrickville Fair,
"A look back in time"
August 9,10,11, 2013
The 175th anniversay of the Merrickville Fair is here! Our Anniversary Committee has been busy over the past months, planning a full slate of activities and displays to commemorate this event. The weekend will kick off with a Reunion Dinner on Wednesday August 7th. Over the weekend there will be many activites for children. A pet show and parade, baby contest, storytelling with our local librarian, craft corner and activity stations, arcade with old-fashioned games, and frog jumping and races to name only a few. Also featured this year, is an antique steam show. Three large steamers will demonstrate wood threshing and shingle milling. Many smaller displays of antique tools and steam shows will be shown, doing the work they were intended to do. There will also be a display of antique tractors and a 1913 Ford driving around. A parade is also being planned to visit our village streets to announce this special fair. Check back to our website in the coming months to see how our schedule unfolds.
